Improved sitting posture and comfort thanks to an ergonomic office chair

03/07/2023

Ergonomics is important when furnishing your office. Providing your staff with ergonomic furniture is an absolute must both in the office and at home. It ensures better posture, improves health, increases productivity and saves costs in the long run. So, a proper office chair is essential.

At Pami, we collaborate with renowned international brands, such as Flokk, Viasit, Wilkhahn, and so on. Ergonomic office chairs are unique because their settings are specifically designed to provide the user with a comfortable and healthy working posture.

Settings
An ergonomic office chair must conform to your body. You control this using particular settings. Note that certain features are available based on the make and model. Let’s look at the main features:

  • Seat height allows you to adjust the office chair to your height. This ensures your upper body forms the correct shape with your legs when your feet are flat on the ground.
  • Seat depth sets the distance between the front of the seat and the backrest. You adjust these settings to conform with the length of your thighs to ensure you have good blood circulation.
  • The backrest is also adjustable in height. This ensures your back aligns well with it to fully support your back.
  • The lumbar support is an adjustable section in the lower back of the chair to support the curvature of your back. So, the backrest guides the entire spine.
  • Armrests can be adjusted in various ways (depending on the make and model). For example, height, depth, width, and/or it may rotate to certain positions. All these features allow you to completely adjust the chair based on your body type and to support your arms in their natural position.

Get the most out of your office chair and adjust it together with your workstation to your body type and needs. How?

Movement mechanism
Besides different settings, the biggest difference between office chairs is often the movement mechanism. This determines how the chair follows and supports the natural movements of your body.

We recommend a dynamic chair. Note that you set the movement mechanism resistance according to your body weight. You set the resistance just enough so that you do not feel as if you are falling backwards if you apply even the slightest pressure.

When selecting a good ergonomic office chair, we recommend testing each chair. You can do so on site or in one of our Experience Centres. Please feel free to contact us, no strings attached. We are happy to explain each of your available options. And then you can be sure you make the best ergonomic choice.
