Eames Aluminium Chairs

The Aluminium Chair is one of the greatest furniture designs of the twentieth century. Charles and Ray Eames designed and developed this chair in 1958 for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA). The designer duo based this construction on the principle of the seat shell rather than a panel of fabric or leather stretched between two aluminium profiles for a sturdy yet elastic seat. The chair adapts to the body and is extremely comfortable even without any inner upholstery. The Aluminium Collection consists of different models for use in homes, offices and public spaces.
