Float High

The Float sofa system was designed by Eero Koivisto and is characterized by comfort, flexibility, spaciousness and mobility. The Float has a floating construction with a design inspired by the Star Wars movies. The Float consists of buildable modules that can be combined based on the need of the individual or the optimal design of the room. The Float looks like it is floating due to a unique detail, barely noticeable because of the low base. By letting the sofa rest on a low cap of mirrored glass that reflects the base, the illusion that the sofa is floating above the floor is created. It gives the Float an airy impression despite its cubic and very sleek design. Eero Koivisto got the idea when he saw the Sandspeeder vehicle in a Star Wars movie. He found out that the makers had used mirrored glass to create the illusion that the vehicle is floating.
