Bring nature into your workplace

Bring nature into your workplace

07/10/2025

You know the drill: a long day at the office. Back-to-back meetings; the air feels heavy, and so does your head. On average, we spend 85 to 90% of our time indoors. And that has an impact on us!

Yet everyone knows how good a short walk in nature does: you come back with more energy, you’re more relaxed, and you often have new ideas. But what if you could experience that feeling not only outside, but inside your workplace too?

The answer is biophilic design: a design vision that brings natural elements inside. No hype here; just a proven approach to making offices healthier, more pleasant, and more humane.

At Pami, we always start from one principle: human-centred. Technology, design, and sustainability are important, but ultimately, it’s all about how people feel and function. That’s why we combine innovative solutions with a people-centred approach, and biophilic design can play a key role in this.

Why biophilic design works

An office with natural elements feels different: warmer, more inviting, and less sterile. This is not only aesthetic, but also has a proven impact on well-being and productivity:

  • Less stress
Research shows that plants and natural materials calm our nervous system. Employees feel more relaxed and resilient.
  • More focus and creativity
Nature gently stimulates, keeping your attention sharp for longer and creating space for new ideas.
  • More welcoming ambience
Natural elements make offices more human. This enhances engagement and job satisfaction.

How do we translate this into office design?

At Pami, we design and realise total concepts: layout, colours, materials, furniture, lighting, and much more. Every detail contributes to a working environment in which people feel good. Natural elements are given a natural place in it, both visible and subtle.

Direct natural elements

Plants are the most recognisable form. Not just as decoration, but integrated into the design. This includes elements like the planters in our Matriks shelving system, cabinets, or room dividers. Thus, they not only bring plants into the room, but also improve acoustics and create zones without hard walls.

Daylight is also crucial: we advise on layout and the placement of workstations to make the best use of natural light.

Indirect natural elements

Of course, not everything has to be literally green. The power often lies in subtlety:

  • Colours: earthy tones, soft greens, and wood structures
  • Materials: wood veneer, textiles, and matt surfaces for warmth
  • Shapes: rounded corners and flowing lines feel friendlier
  • Lighting: a mix of daylight and warm artificial lighting for comfort

By cleverly combining these elements, we create a workplace that feels natural and where people feel at home.

Here’s how to start today

The beauty of biophilic design is that you don’t have to start big. Small changes already make a noticeable difference:

  • Some nice plants in the office or a green wall in the coffee corner.
  • When redecorating or renovating, consciously opt for natural colours, materials, and shapes.
  • Create clever combinations: a little greenery, some wood, and soft lines bring harmony.
  • Think practical: choose low-maintenance solutions that stay beautiful in the long term.

An office is much more than just a place where people work. It is an environment in which people work together, grow, and need to feel good. That is why we don’t just design furniture, but create inspiring work environments that combine well-being, efficiency, and sustainability.

So the question is not whether to add natural elements, but how. And that’s exactly where we would like to help you. Find out how we make your office greener and healthier. Get in touch.
