Pami joins the UN Global Compact

23/11/2023

Since as far back as 2013, Pami has been the only Benelux company in our sector with a CSR Performance Ladder certificate. We are now proud to announce our accession to the UN Global Compact. Pami embraces the UN Global Compact principles and further integrates them into its business strategy and activities. It is a natural extension and confirmation of our commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

UN Global Compact
UN Global Compact, the world’s largest sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, was established by the United Nations in 2000. It encourages companies around the world to commit to ten universal principles on human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption.

“At Pami, we always strive for sustainability and corporate responsibility."

“At Pami, we always strive for sustainability and corporate responsibility. This accession underlines our commitment to making positive change in the world and making a difference in the communities in which we operate,” clarified CEO Lode Essers. “Pami made significant efforts to integrate sustainability into our business in recent years. We invested in eco-friendly production processes, reducing our carbon footprint, and promoting fair labour practices within our supply chain.”

Our commitment to sustainable office design
Pami is committed to creating office spaces and furniture that are not only functional and aesthetic, but also sustainable. And in a way in which we can guarantee optimal working conditions. How does this manifest itself in reality? We’ve listed some examples below.

  1. Materials: 26.3% of our raw materials comes from recycled material. In addition, our products are 100% recyclable.
  2. Waste minimisation: our waste streams are entirely under our own management. This gives us full control over its sorting and we can reuse both product and packaging materials whenever possible.
  3. Reuse: the design of our products always starts from circular design principles. By doing so, we increase the chances of reusing, refurbishing, or remanufacturing and ensure a reduced environmental impact.
  4. Working conditions: we believe that fair working conditions, creating equal opportunities, and promoting inclusiveness in the labour market are all of paramount importance. Not only within our own organisation, but also for our suppliers.
  5. Transparency: we annually update our sustainability report (link), in which we discuss themes related to People, Planet, and Prosperity in depth, all according to the GRI Standards.

By joining the UN Global Compact, Pami further strengthens its commitment to sustainability and continues to work towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
